E. coli DNA Residue Probe qPCR Kit

Escherichia coli (E. coli) is commonly used for large-scale expression and production of target proteins or bioactive molecules, including recombinant proteins, vaccines, and anti-cancer drugs. During the production of these biologics, small amounts of E. coli cellular DNA fragments are left behind, which may trigger safety issues such as immune responses, pathogenic infections, and tumour induction. In many countries and regions, drug registration and regulatory authorities have strict restrictions on host cell DNA residues in biopharmaceutical products. Also, when used for high-throughput sequencing of trace samples, it is necessary to ensure that the recombinantly expressed enzymes are free from E. coli DNA contamination.

Beyotime has newly released E. coli DNA Residue Probe qPCR Kit (D7701), which efficiently and sensitively detects residual DNA from E. coli, with a lower limit of 3fg/μl.

Figure 1. Amplification and standard curves obtained using Beyotime E. coli DNA Residue Probe qPCR Kit (D7701).

This kit demonstrates high specificity. It does not exhibit cross-reactivity with DNA from other species.

Figure 2. Standard curves obtained using Beyotime E. coli DNA Residue Probe qPCR Kit (D7701) for positive controls at different concentrations, and positive controls with 10-fold excess of genomic DNA from HeLa and CHO cells.

This kit exhibits high stability. Fragmented DNA does not significantly interfere with the assay.

This kit also contains an optimised ratio of high quality UDG enzyme and dUTP to eliminate false positives or low CT values caused by product contamination during PCR.
