本产品为接近无色略带有粉色或黄色的粉末。溶于含1/3冰乙酸的水溶液，溶解度为20mg/ml，溶液颜色为黄绿色。
TMB常用于ELISA等检测过氧化物酶(peroxidase)活性，是辣根过氧化物酶等过氧化物酶的显色底物。
